Don’t miss What’s Ahead for Housing? A Symposium on Federal Housing Policy Change

Do you lay awake at night contemplating the future of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac?  Can’t get enough of talking about the Mortgage Interest Deduction? Does the thought of a day discussing potential changes to the Low-Income Housing Tax Credits make you swoon? If so, you’ll want to attend What’s Ahead for Housing?  A Symposium on Federal Housing Policy Change.

On Friday, June 14, housing professionals from across Virginia and Washington D. C. will gather at the Boar’s Head Inn in Charlottesville to consider and discuss the future of housing policy at the federal level and how it will impact the state. Policy superstars include Maurice Jones, HUD Deputy Secretary; Bill Shelton, director of Virginia’s Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD); Virginia Senator Mark Warner and VHDA’s own Susan Dewey, executive director.

The past few years have seen a number of new housing programs created, as well as modifications to venerated institutions, and one thing is certain – there are more changes to come. Now, more than ever, stakeholders need to be involved in the conversation and made aware of what lies ahead. This symposium will provide beneficial information for local governments, non-profits, realtors, lenders, housing providers and housing authorities.

While some of us rely on the housing industry for our livelihood, we all feel the impacts. Housing is a big part of what makes a community vibrant and attractive. It’s a major economic indicator and job creator.  Quality, affordable and attainable housing can change lives.  Whether your interest is in the Community Reinvestment Act, foreclosure prevention, or the secondary mortgage market, you’ll find valuable and useful information, along with opportunities to connect with other professionals from across the state.  Don’t be left out of the conversation – visit Housing Virginia for more information and to register today!
